Junk Food News 1877-2000: "Given the diversity, enormity, and propensity of the media for Junk Food News, it is readily apparent the problem is not a lack of time and space for news. The problem is the quality of the news selected to fill that limited time and space. Today we’re suffering from news inflation—there seems to be more of it than ever before but it isn’t worth as much as it used to be."
