The system was written to be intentionally confusing. The system you have just logged on to is primarily a pagan information/ resouce base. Our text file server contains thousands of files on topics like, Public Pagan Awearness, Witchcraft (Wicca), Shamanic Traditions, Druid Traditions, and many others of related nature. Since there is much unneccesary anti-witch propaganda about the world, we make it a point to try and educate the public on our beliefs and rituals. There is nothing "evil" or "bad" about the Craft. We welcome all to come and use the text files and read the messages to find out all the FACTS about pagan spirituality. Most of the people on this system have been very patient, and I thank them for that, however occasionally someone on the rather annoying side makes their presence. Show your maturity and let your positive aura glow. So now that all of this introduction and orientation stuff is over with I invite you to come into my home. Pull up a chair or just lean up against the fireplace. Have a hot cup of cider. Blessed be! Fini the Priestess asks you to stroke a key... thank you..brightest blessings. The walk. Sliding your feet across the cracked sidewalk that runs it's course around the old side of town. The chilling autumn wind pierces the light cotton which covers the length of your torso. The dimly lit street that was Garden Way seemed sheltering and beautiful at night, unlike that of the city streets. Long porches of houses built generations ago seem to never end. Copper screens, rusted and aged mellow the light coming from neighboring houses. At last you meet the edge of the block; the corner where your stroll ends. The house seems ancient, and wise, built like none other on the heirloom street. Gauzed windows show only shadows, as the elm tree swaying with every gust of wind gives new texture to the structure. Your feet meet each step with new anticipation. Seven steps. The door, solid. Ornamental, but of a style lost with fairy tales and lost worlds. Your fingers caress the folds of the door to create a soft echo on the outside. Seconds pass and steps are heard approaching the door. The knob turns, the door opens. A woman in her late thirties answers the door. Her face, not unlike that of fine china greets you with a smile, and waves you inside the house. The aroma is sweet like honey, with the faint bitterness of lemon. She dissapears momentarily and reappears with two goblets. One she hands to you. Offering a toast to the goddess, the night, and to the many blessings she's been given, she presses the metal against her lips and receives the liquid. The plants about the house begin to sing to you, the soft candles placed about the house release their emotion. The fireplace burns with delight, as a cauldron floats above the flame revealing colors and delectation. There is a magic in the air, a light fog of sorts. The insence burns, and the plants wave their fragile arms. A cat rubs it's nose into your shin, and dissapears again. The lady of the house guides you into a large room. Ancient books cover the walls like paintings, showing each of their enchanting covers. Madeline as she in known, climbs up a ladder to find a book. On her way down, she glances into the pages of the thick, dusty bounded book, looks up only to smile at you. The woman, again pokes her head above the cover, smiles, and chants aayN.ur.er hs,YÉæloÞŽzhe everyž½e cop t.»ie•i.wn, tion. Topic? 1 [] (Finitopia) Pointless and boring text. This is a data communications symposium in which communications hobbyists (otherwise known as geeks) congregate and send silly messages to each other, and read further information about it (like this) all of which is completely useless and irrelevant to the scheme of things in general. Thank you for listening. Topic? 2 [] Finitopia Boring system information... Finitopia is a DOS based land mass which is currently operating on a very fast 32 bit AT configured motherboard. It's got a pretty big hard drive that you can't possibly fill up. The system also tends to run best when attatched to one Universal Data Systems V.3225. This wonderful machine even comes complete with one caffene tripped Syslave is ready to assist at your very bekon. Finitopia is online 24 hours, and may be down occasionally because of hardware problems, war, earthquakes, or other natural disasters. The best way we've found to get your questions answered is to send either "system", "fini" mail, or just to send FEEDBACK. If one of us for some unknown reason doesn't reply to your message, chances are we have not read it. At this point an incantation may do the trick. We will make an honest effort to answer whatever questions you have. If you don't have net access, we can probably arrange something, or you can call the BBS listed here and leave FEEDBACK. We are always interested in questions, comments, complaints, suggestions, ranting and raving, and general feedback. There is no charge for support, so long as you are nice about it. ABOUT CONFIGURABILITY Waffle is extremely configurable. All the menus are configurable; it is very easy to add commands, either as externals or as files displayed when a "magic word" is typed. The signup questionaire may be altered. Certain features (such as COOKIE, FILES, etc) may be disabled. There are LOTS of things we haven't mentioned. In fact there is approximately 400k of documentation available, so we have barely even scratched the surface. Both DOS and Unix versions appear identical to the online user. Thus even if you are mainly interested in the Unix version, we strongly suggest obtaining a copy of the current version of Waffle to inspect the documentation (Unix documentation is included with the DOS version). This will give you a clearer overview than this silly note. ...Tom -- dell@vox.darkside.com (C) Copyright 1992 Darkside Int'l Topic? q (#0: First Bass: the Ravers Digest) 2:20a (?=help!) -> ? (#0: First Bass: the Ravers Digest) 2:21a (?=help!) -> welcome The walk. The woman, again pokes her head above the cover, smiles, and chants a few words that are foreign but comforting to your ears. You close your eyes, feeling a light breeze tug your hair... Everything seems to be moving in a very smooth and orderly direction. The BBS seems to be doing okay on it's own. I am not overly impressed with it though. It needs work, and the work I want to do on it costs money. Another pause until the funding comes in. I've noticed a lot of activity in the files section, and for those using it, I thank you. I have had this is my mind, wanting to do this for so long its a bit of a dream finally getting the damn thing operating. As you all know I have been out of the local BBS scene for quite a while, but I am on my way back. Even if I might be gone half the time. Well, anyway, I have done a lot of new things in the past few years that I wish to share a bit with you all, and thats more or less the reasoning for Adventure Inc. If you enjoy the outdoors in any way, you will dig all that I have planned. Hiking, Camping, Fishing, Mountain Climbing, Rock Climbing, Mountain Biking, Road Biking, Expeditions, Spelunking, etc. We as a m will organize outings in which we may do one of the activities, or combos of them. I also enjoy outdoor photography and especially in the twilight. I promise you a fantastic time here and I want everyone to enjoy the spirit that hangs out around here. So, eat your vitamins, workout, and convince yourself to do something, that normally you might have a hardtime doing. _/_/TwoTone [RET] 1-50, Q)uit: Post: 2 of 50 Subject: Wah Wah! The woman, again pokes her head above the cover, smiles, and chants a few words that are foreign but comforting to your ears. You close your eyes, feeling a light breeze tug your hair... Yule (BIG Discussions online) December 21, 1992 Full Moon More of em' Imbolc February 2, 1992 ------------------------------------------------------------------ Welcome everyone. Today is Yule, and well, I have to work. Yip. Kinda sucks. Oh well, this is life for ya. The gods have been good this holiday season. For those who have been uploading new text and stuff, even bigger blessings. Blessed Be All!!! No mail. (#0: First Bass: the Ravers Digest) 2:26a (?=help!) -> quuit Trailer Park + Lawyer = QUUIT.
