Jeff Goldblum:

The only time I ever saw Jeff Goldblum in person was at the Alien Highway Dedication in Rachel, Nevada, in April 1996. The governor of the state and 20th Century Fox had worked out a deal where they would fly in the stars of the new sci-fi film Independence Day to this village of mobile homes, about twenty miles from a US Air Force base which the Air Force has said for years doesn’t exist. The base, which everyone calls Area 51, is the subject of a booming local industry fuelled by UFO enthusiasts who believe that it is where "they" keep the crashed flying saucers; at night, they supposedly take them up for test flights. Hence the renaming of the nearby highway.
