hacking as artefact

Going deeper, one can examine a hack or the act of "hacking" as an artefact, a technological construct which has been hollowed out and reformed within the belly of a large, proprietary computer system. This examination could follow, in great part, Langdon Winnerís concept of the technological construct as an artefact: not simply a tool for a particular task within a positivist technological history, but a political construct created within a particular milieu and having certain effects.
